This documentary tells the story of World War II’s most mysterious submarine and the role it played in the battles that raged in the Atlantic. The world's largest “Underwater Warship”, equipped with large cannons, an airplane and patrol boat, was a shadowy menace that patrolled America’s coastline, the Mediterranean, and Caribbean until it vanished inexplicably, never to be seen or heard from again. From only recently released American, Canadian and British Naval archival data, our documentary tracks the travels, tribulations and ultimate demise of the French’s enigmatic Surcouf.
